Nautical but Nice Business Networking Event.
Maldon Business Networking group meet every other Friday at The Oakhouse Bar, High Street, Maldon, Essex. The usual venue is a great place to meet; but on a particular summer evening in June 2012 the organisers decided to change the venue for a one off Summer Spectacular.
And what a venue! Top Sail Charters, The Hythe, Maldon on the 1895 sailing barge “The Thistle”.
As usual, the great British summer was at its best, yes it rained!
However, there was some blue sky, the showers ceased as the evening progressed and we had a chance to enjoy the sea air and some beautiful surroundings. We even had the opportunity for some posing on the barge deck. If you have not visited the Hythe Quay in Maldon and stepped aboard these wonderful historic vessels then I would highly recommend that you do.
Our hostess for the evening, Stephanie Valentine from Top-Sail, gave us all the ships history from its working background to its beautifully converted life now providing a spacious venue for all kinds of entertaining. To find out more about the Barges please visit www.top-sail.co.uk
Despite the damp weather conditions the overall turn out for the event was good and all that attended enjoyed the venue, the company and the bar. Oh yes, there was a bit of business discussed. The networking group are a very friendly, welcoming bunch; always keen to meet and talk to like-minded business owners. The aim of the group is to meet in an informal manner and build longer term relationships that can be beneficial to all concerned.
I personally have met some really fantastic people, some good business connections and I have made some great friends. So, if you are thinking about networking and wondering if it is for you, then why not join us one Friday late afternoon early evening over a drink or two.
